The Story of Opaline Paris

It all started with an observation (that we all made)

Are you familiar with this disappointment? The disappointment of buying a pretty little gold necklace on a whim, wearing it proudly, and seeing it tarnish, turn grey or leave a green mark on the skin after only a few weeks.

For a long time, I believed there were only two options:

  1. Affordable but disposable "fancy" jewelry (often made of brass or basic steel).
  2. Luxury jewelry in solid gold, sublime but inaccessible for everyday enjoyment.

Opaline Paris was born to break this dilemma. I wanted to create a third way: that of fine jewelry . Precious, durable jewelry, healthy for the skin, but at a fair price.

Our obsession: What lies "beneath"

At Opaline Paris, beauty is not superficial. Unlike much of the industry that uses brass (a base metal often containing nickel) as its base, we have made a radical choice:

Solid Silver, or nothing.

Every ring, every necklace, every earring you hold in your hands is crafted from 925 Sterling Silver . That's our quality pledge.

  • Hypoallergenic: No more itchy ears or reddened skin.
  • Noble: You are wearing a precious metal, which has real value.

Lasting shine (The 3-micron rule)

For the gilding, we didn't want a simple "flash" that would evaporate. We apply a layer of 18-carat gold with a minimum thickness of 3 microns to our silver.

It's a strict standard (the French legal term "Gold Plated") that guarantees the gold is thick enough to withstand the wear and tear of everyday life. This is what allows us to guarantee our jewelry today and see our customers wearing it season after season.

And because we always strive for excellence, we are already working on the future: the integration of 18k Gold Filled on a silver base, for resistance close to that of solid gold.
